Post by Jussi HäkkinenDrill a hole with a drill that suits to the screws you'll be using. Then,
use a larger drill (slightly bigger than the screw cap) to make the other
hole larger. Then, put the coping on its place, use some foam rubber,
polyurethane foam or similar to make a "bed" to the coping and attach screws
from the larger hole, tightening the screw cap inside the pipe.
That would have been my choice too. But there is also the
"HiFi" method where instead of drilling holes to the pipe
you weld the bolts to the pipe directly thus avoiding the
need of making holes to the grinding surface (although
nobody would have noticed them anyway).
If you can't weld then another method could be drilling
keyhole shaped holes to the underside of the pipe and use
bolts that have a square part near the "cap". I have no
idea what those bolts are called. By placing the "keyholes"
to opposite directions you prevent it from sliding off.
